Men's Basketball Defeated at MSOE Saturday Afternoon

Milwaukee, Wis — Men's Basketball could not make it two conference wins in a row as they fell to Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders (15-7, 13-2 NACC) on Saturday, resulting in an 87-75 defeat at Kern Center Arena. Despite the loss, Illinois Tech showed impressive free-throw shooting, sinking 24 of 27 attempts. With the Loss Illinois Tech now stands at 6-16 and 4-11 in NACC play.

How it Happened 

The game tipped off with a bang as Jonathan Burroughs of MSOE dunked just 13 seconds in, setting an early pace. The Raiders quickly extended their lead when Ethan Johnson converted a three-point play at 19:16, making it 5-0. Illinois Tech's John Davis III stepped up with two successful free throws to keep the Scarlet Hawks in contention. The first half saw multiple lead changes, highlighted by Garrison Carter's 3-pointer at 16:16, pulling Illinois Tech within striking distance. However, the Raiders edged ahead, finishing the half with a 34-29 lead, thanks to Burroughs' clutch free throws.

In the second half, Illinois Tech battled hard but struggled to close the gap as the Raiders maintained their momentum. Carson Cordelli was key for MSOE, delivering on both jumpers and layups. For the Scarlet Hawks, Isaiah Dudley and Garrison Carter spearheaded the scoring efforts, with Carter's perfect free-throw shooting making an impact. Despite their determination, Illinois Tech couldn't overcome the deficit, and the Raiders clinched the game with solid free-throw performance, wrapping it up at 87-75.
