Milwaukee, Wis. - A record 197 Illinois Tech student-athletes earned Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2025-26 academic year, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The 197 student athletes earning this honor represent 72% of the total Illinois Tech Athletics population for NACC-sponsored sports(swimming and diving is not a NACC-sponsored sport), a 10.11% increase from the 2024-25 academic year.
In total, over 2,800 student-athletes from NACC schools achieved this honor.
"Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate that excellence is not limited to competition—it is a standard they uphold in the classroom every day," said Assistant Vice President - Director of Athletics Usha Gilmore. "Earning NACC Scholar-Athlete recognition is a testament to their discipline, resilience, and commitment to achieving success in every aspect of the student-athlete experience. I am incredibly proud of what they have accomplished and grateful to our coaches, faculty, and staff who support them in reaching these milestones. Congratulations to each of our NACC Scholar-Athletes for representing Illinois Tech with integrity, determination, and academic excellence."
Student-athletes competing in the conference must maintain a grade point average of 3.25 or higher for the academic year to be eligible for the honor. Each academic year stands by itself for the determination of this award.
