Fitness Classes

Zumba (with Terri Butler Bodee) @ Keating Sports Center

Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. The choreography incorporates hip hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengueand mambo. Workout moves such as squats and lunges are carefully crafted into each dance. Get in a great workout before you even notice you were exercising!

Yoga (with Lisa) @ Keating Sports Center

This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. Take time to recharge and reflect while becoming stronger inside and out.

Tang Soo Do is a Korean form of karate, and a traditional striking art where students will learn to better their mind, body, and spirit through exercise and self-defense practice.

Nearu Martial Art & Self Defence (with Dr. Farshad Ghanei) @ Keating Sports Center (multi-purpose room)

The philosophy of Nearu is based on Peace, Love and Understanding.

With its roots deep in the mountains of the Himalayas, Nearu teaches students to protect themselves in times of experienced physical and/or emotional stress.

While the physical training and self-defense techniques increase the students’ stamina, strength, agility and control, the concentration, breathing lessons enable
the students to always remain grounded and balanced in the face of one’s daily challenges.
