Springfield, IL – The Scarlet Hawks traveled to Robert Morris University – Springfield for a men's basketball showdown on Saturday. Turnovers were the story for the Hawks who were defeated 88-48.
Josh Buck went 3-5 from the three-point line and totaled 11 points which was good for his career-high and tied for the team-high for the night with Samuel Rarick. Rarick added nine rebounds and four steals. Illinois Tech had trouble from the get-go breaking the early press by the Eagles. The Hawks' 37 total turnovers quickly turned into 45 Eagle points. The Eagles keyed in on Hawk guard Anthony Lossrestricting him to only ten points on the night, all of which came off of free-throws.
Tech was only outscored by nine points in the second half but the gap was too large to fully recover from. The Hawks will look to bounce back when they go across town to take on Moody Bible Institute on Thursday night at 7pm.
