Chicago, IL – Illinois Tech men's basketball visited Moody Bible Institute for what proved to be a back and forth battle. Even with a 42 point performance from Hawk freshman Anthony Loss, the result saw the Hawks fall by four points, 81-77.
Tech jumped out to a 27-19 lead in the first half before going a bit cold and only scoring five more points the rest of the half. Moody Bible took advantage of this and went on a 23-5 run to exit the floor with a 42-32 halftime lead. IIT came storming back in the second half, cutting the lead to three with 7:15 remaining. The Hawks then found themselves down by two, 77-75 with just 38 seconds left in the game but Moody was able to hold on for the victory.
Loss set a career high mark with his 42 points. He went 15-for-26 from the field and 9-for-11 from the free throw line while adding four assists. Anders Bybjerg chipped in 13 points and six rebounds.
The Hawks will get another chance at Moody Bible when they visit Keating Sports Center on February 15th.
