IIT scored their lone run of the contest in unusual fashion when Claudio LoBraico (tripled) touched home plate from third base off Nick Bledsoe's strikeout that awarded him first base off a wild pitch in the eighth inning, which narrowed their deficit to 14-1.

Ian Duke, Alex O'Malley, Alex Riehman and Zac Lis combined to surrender 17 hits and 14 runs on the pitching rubber for Illinois Tech. Troy Bauer was awarded the pitching win for WashU as he struck out seven and gave up three hits over five innings. Collin Kahal notched a 3-for-3 day at the plate for the Bears.

Washington University (Mo.) 10, Scarlet Hawks 0

The Scarlet Hawks managed just two hits in the contest courtesy of Bledsoe and Brandon Bennitt. Roberto Carselle, Jacob Geiger and Austin Richardson all saw pitching time for IIT, and combined to strikeout six batters. The Bears notched 16 hits in the contest, led by Sean Robinson's 4-for-4 day at the dish.

IIT will face Elmhurst College (DH) in a neutral-site affair in Jacksonville, Illinois on Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m.
