CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology women's tennis team's 2021 home opener pitted them against Lakeland University at the XS-Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon. The Scarlet Hawks converted their second-straight sweep with a 9-0 decision over the Muskies.
Illinois Tech improves to 2-0, 2-0 NACC while Lakeland falls to 1-1, 1-1 NACC.

Mouna Chahin/Ramya Nissankula were unstoppable for the Scarlet Hawks in No. 2 doubles with an 8-0 decision over Kallie Hoeft/Jessica Leicht. Morgan Colbert/Kylie Hance (No. 1) and Allyson Trang/Manon Tesche (No. 3) kept that momentum going with 8-1 victories in their doubles matches.
Morgan Colbert (No. 1), Kylie Hance (No. 2), Mouna Chahin (No. 4), Ramya Nissankula (No. 5) and Manon Tesche (No. 6) were flawless in their singles matches with 6-0, 6-0 victories. Allyson Trang was dominant for the Scarlet Hawks with a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Kallie Hoeft in No. 3 singles.
The Scarlet Hawks will travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to face Alverno College on Saturday, April 10. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
