Swimming And Diving Opens Season Under New Era

Whitewater, Wis. - The Illinois Tech swimming and diving team opened their season and a new era for the team while competing at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Saturday afternoon.

Although the Scarlet Hawks came up short for the team scores, the bigger picture was the team was able to compete in their first meet under new Head Coach Kate Chronic.

The Scarlet Hawks were piloted by interim Head Coach Billy Bafia the last two years, and the team was able to achieve good levels of success, including back-to-back swimmers who qualified for nationals. Chronic takes over a team with several returners as well as an infusion of first-year swimmers to the roster.
