Chicago, Ill - Illinois Tech swimming & diving returned from winter break with a senior day home meet against North Central College Saturday afternoon at Ekco Pool. The Scarlet Hawks started their second half strong, securing a pair of team victories over the Cardinals. Multiple seniors notched 1st place finishes on the afternoon.
Men's swimming & diving improved to 4-1 overall in dual meet competition with a 145-11 win over the Cardinals' men's squad. Women's swimming & diving improved to 2-3 overall in dual meets with a 109-42 over the Cardinals' women's team.
Prior to the meet, the team honored their 2026 senior class in a pre-meet ceremony.

Anna Malik were honored on the women's side, while
Tristan Minarik,
Don Rose and
Swun Tun were honored on the men's side.
Men's Recap
Rose excelled in the 50-yard freestyle, securing first place with a time of 21.94 seconds.
Aidan Chance led the Illinois Tech team with a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, clocking in at 11:14.53, and also secured the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle at 49.00.
Zeng Wye Liew showcased his versatility by winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.45 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:05.47. Rose contributed to the second-place finish in the mixed 200-yard medley relay. Minarik earned a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:10.39.
Giorgio Turchetti took the top spot in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:04.84, while Paul Turbert earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.57.
Ricky Rosales claimed the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.65. In unopposed diving competition, Tun edged out fellow men's diver
Colin Schultz 191 to 184.
Women's Recap
Illinois Tech showcased a strong performance against North Central College, highlighted by Hampton's victory in the Women 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:41.69. The Scarlet Hawks also secured first-place finishes in multiple events, including the Mixed 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, contributing to a solid team victory. Hampton also contributed to the second-place finish in the mixed 200-yard medley relay. She also secured second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.83.
Kayla Matsumoto showcased her skills by winning the 200-yard freestyle in 2:11.47 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:20.00. She also played a key role in the mixed 200-yard freestyle relay, which Illinois Tech won with a time of 1:44.61. Malik earned a senior day victory in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:56.53. Claire M van Biljon captured first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.05 and claimed the 200-yard butterfly title in 2:24.80.
Taryn Oser grabbed the top spot in the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 1:13.71. In unopposed diving competition,
Hannah Malin earned a score of 129.35, while
Aislinn McManus was right behind with a score of 124.60.
