Doubles Play - Illinois Tech 3 - Concordia Wisconsin 0 (Illinois Tech earns 1 doubles point)
The travel delay seemed to help the Scarlet Hawks, as they swept doubles play 3-0 to start the match. Paige Geiger and Angelica Conwell got to the finish line first in their number two doubles competition, winning 6-2. The number three doubles team of Ashley Dame and Rhea Karumuru finished next, sweeping their match 6-0. Dame and Karumuru have now won three of their last four doubles matches in conference. Martyna Kalinowska and Hannah Markiewicz wrapped up the doubles sweep for Illinois Tech next with their 6-4 victory in the number one doubles match. Singles Play - Illinois Tech 4 - Concordia Wisconsin 2 (Illinois Tech earns 4 singles points to secure the match victory)
With their doubles point in their pocket, the Scarlet Hawks looked to lock down the match victory as they transitioned to singles play. Markiewicz moved the Hawks ahead 2-0 when she won her number two singles match 6-1, 6-1, while moving to 4-1 in NACC singles play in the process. The Falcons mounted a comeback however, with Payton Steward defeating Conwell 6-2, 6-1 in the number five singles match. Jeanie Eisen of Concordia Wisconsin followed up with a 6-1, 6-2 win in her number six singles match against Karumuru. With those two wins, the Falcons evened the match score at 2-2, leaving the match up to the number one, three and four singles matches. Kalinowska put the Scarlet Hawks back in front 3-2 when she won her number one singles match 6-2, 6-2. Kalinowska, in her first-year season, is now 6-1 in singles play overall, including 5-0 in conference. Dame ended the suspense for the overall match victory when she defeated the Falcons Abby Schwartz 6-3, 6-3 in the number four match, securing the fourth match point for the Scarlet Hawks. Dame also improved to 5-0 in conference singles play. Geiger gave the Hawks the extra match point when she rallied to defeat the Falcons Ruth Dolde 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) in her number three singles match. For Geiger, playing extra time tennis is nothing new, as that was her third three-set singles match out of seven matches on the season.
