Chicago, Ill. - The Illinois Tech swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2025 portion of their competition schedule this past weekend when they competed with nine other teams, including five top 25 programs, at the Phoenix Fall Classic Invite, hosted by UChicago.
The men's team claimed 8th place overall, with 508.5 points, while the women's team came in 9th place with 440 points.
Graduate student Claire van Biljon was the top point producer overall in the meet for Illinois Tech, earning 62 points, including an 8th place finish in the 50 freestyle finals at 23.92, and 16th place in the 100 freestyle finals at 52.61. Both times were season bests. In women's diving, Hannah Malin earned 19 points in 1-meter diving competition.
Freshman
Zeng Wye Liew was the top point producer on the men's swimming side for the Scarlet Hawks, earning 42 points, including a 12th place finish in the 200 breaststroke finals at 2:04.06, and 14th place in the 400 IM finals at 4:06.81. Both times were season/personal bests. In men's diving, both
Colin Schultz and
Swun Tun finished with 59 points on the weekend.

The Scarlet Hawks will be idle from competition until January. Winter training will take place in the month of December, and the Scarlet Hawks next meet will be January 10th, when they host North Central College at 1pm for the squad's only home meet of the season.
