Green Bay, Wis. - Sophia Halama and Lane Regan were the top finishers for Illinois Tech women's and men's cross country, respectively, in the 2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Cross Country Championships, held on Saturday, November 1st at the UW-Green Bay Phoenix Alumni Cross Country Course at Shorewood Park. St. Norbert College was the host school for the conference meet.

Overall, Illinois Tech women's cross country finished in 6th place out of 11 conference challengers, while the men's team finished in 7th place out of 9 conference challengers.

Halama was the top finisher on the women's side for the Scarlet Hawks, coming in with a time of 24:40.1 in the women's 6k event, good for 14th place out of 87 finishers. Halama's top 15 finish earned her All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season, after earning the same honors at the 2024 NACC Cross Country Championships.

Regan was the top finisher on the men's side, clocking in at 28:23.3 in the men's 8k event, earning 34th place out of 95 finishers. His time was also a season's best in 8k competition in 2025.

Head Coach Tyler McQuality saw good things from his squad at this year's conference meet.

"I am very proud of our team, eight of our athletes set personal bests and two set season bests," said McQuality. "That is what we want this time of the year and is a direct reflection of everyone's hard work. One more meet to attack more personal bests at the Regional Championships in two weeks."

In addition to Regan's season best performance, Mason Brewer achieved a personal best in what was likely his penultimate meet of his career. Personal bests were also achieved by Paige McEnerny, Clara Pargett and Genesis De La Garza on the women's side, and Benjamin Gaeta, Jonathan Garcia-Hernandez, Davin Mikulcik and JD Lopez on the men's side. Ellie Post also achieved a season's best in the women's 6k event.
