Women's Basketball Receives WBCA Honor Roll Recognition

The Illinois Institute of Technology Women's Basketball program has earned national recognition, receiving special mention on the 2024-25 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls released by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on July 22, 2025. Although Illinois Tech did not crack the official Top 25 list in NCAA Division III, the Scarlet Hawks proudly met the 3.0 GPA threshold, achieving a combined team GPA of 3.473. That mark earned the program special mention status, highlighting it as one of the top academic programs across Division III women's basketball. This recognition places Illinois Tech among a select group of NCAA Division III teams celebrated by the WBCA for exemplary academic performance during the 2024-25 academic year.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 honor recognizes collegiate women's basketball teams nationwide that maintain the highest cumulative GPA among all rostered student-athletes over the academic year. Only teams with a combined GPA of at least 3.0 are eligible for consideration. Those ranking in the Top 25 are formally listed, while others achieving the threshold receive special mention. For Illinois Tech, this recognition serves as validation of the program's strong academic culture and the commitment of its student-athletes. It reflects the balance of excellence in both athletics and the classroom, a point of pride for the institution and athletic department.
