Roosevelt University WTEN started strong by sweeping the doubles courts. On court No. 1, Malena Moya and Ximena Mercado edged out
Martyna Kalinowska and
Thea Salcedo 6-4. Over on court No. 2, Sophie Christie and Zeynep Barut claimed a 6-1 victory over
Maia Lecuona Ramos and Maddalena Dumangane. The sweep was completed with Nathalie Ramazzini and Luciana Trigosso's commanding 6-0 win against
Leah Guest and
Angelica Conwell on court No. 3.
The momentum carried into singles play for the Lakers. On court No. 1, Luciana Trigosso narrowly defeated Kalinowska 7-5, 6-4. Nathalie Ramazzini followed up with a solid 6-1, 6-2 win over Dumangane at No. 2 singles. Milena Novikova added another point with her 6-1, 6-1 victory against Salcedo at No. 3.
The Lakers continued their dominance as Lara Sener overpowered Lecuona Ramos 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Malena Moya's 6-0, 6-0 win against Conwell on court No. 5 and Alejandra Chavez's 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Guest on court No. 6 concluded the sweep for Roosevelt University.
