Olivia Jameson and
Carson Owens into Friday's Augustana Penultimate Qualifier meet, with the hopes of earning NCAA qualifying performances. When the sun had set, Jameson had moved into qualifying range in the women's high jump, while Owens moved closer in the men's 400 meters, as both secured victories in their respective events.
Jameson, whose previous 2026 outdoor high jump season best was 1.62m (5' 3.75") at last week's NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, cleared 1.68m (5' 6") on Friday, setting a new season best mark and taking 1st place in the event. More importantly, Jameson's jump moved her into a 12th-place tie on the NCAA qualifying list with one more week to go before the list is finalized. The top 22 performers in their respective events qualify for the 2026 Outdoor Championships.
Owens, whose previous 2026 outdoor 400 meters season best was 48.23 at last week's NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, clocked in with a time of 47.71 on Friday, earning 1st place overall, setting a new season best mark, and resetting his own school record. The performance also moved Owens into 35th place on the men's outdoor NCAA qualifying list with one more week to go. Owens is tentatively scheduled to compete in next week's Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier for one last attempt to secure a top 22 qualifying performance.

Looking ahead, Owens is tentatively scheduled to compete in the Augustana Twilight Final Qualifier in Rock Island, Illinois, with the event taking place over two days on Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14. This will be the final qualifying event before the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 21 - 23, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
