Chicago, Ill. - Taylor Hernandez of women's soccer and Tomas Rebelatto of men's soccer are the recipients of Scarlet Hawk of the Week honors for the week of October 27th.
Hernandez, a first-year forward and Aerospace Engineering major from San Clemente, California, had an 11-point week for the Scarlet Hawks, as the team completed a perfect season in conference play in their final regular season match, and opened NACC tournament play with a quarterfinals victory. Hernandez exploded for 4 goals, 2 assists and 10 points in the Hawks' regular season finale at Rockford last Wednesday. Hernandez added an assist in the Hawks' 5-1 conference playoff victory over Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday. Hernandez is third on the team in goals(9) and points(26), and second in assists(8). She is also the top-scoring first-year player in the conference with 1.44 points per game.
Rebelatto, a junior forward and Computer Science major from Gaithersburg, Maryland, finished the week with 7 points on the strength of 3 goals and 1 assist, as the Scarlet Hawks went 2-0 on the week, including their road win in the NACC tournament opener. Rebelatto began his week with a goal and an assist in the Hawks' 9-1 home win over Rockford on Wednesday. He followed that up with a 2-goal effort in the Hawks' 3-0 win at St. Norbert in the NACC quarterfinals, including the eventual game-winning goal in the 57th minute. For the season, Rebelatto is third on the team in scoring with 18 points on 7 goals and 4 assists.
