Vernoa, Wis. – Illinois Tech Baseball traveled to Wisconsin to take on the third place team in the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC), Edgewood College. After the mid-week double header each team had one more win, with Tech on top 8-7 in game one and Edgewood in game two 11-1. Your Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks are 18-6 on the seasons after the days end.

Game 1

Elliot Chibe (4-1) is the winning pitcher while going 5.1 innings allowing 7 runs (6 earned) on 17hits. Giving way to Andrew Lamkin who came in for the 5 out save, his first of the season, pitching 1.2 innings allowing no runs, on 2 hits with 1 strikeout.

Lamkin also was the starting designated hitter (DH) in the lineup. He led the way with 3 hits one was a double and he had 2 runs batted in (RBI). Brian Colon-Rodriguez and Alex Babusci both added 2 hits apiece, one of Colon's was a double and he had 2 RBI as well. Austin Boos, William Cronin, Sam Pung, and James Tarala all helped with one hit each.

When asked Head Coach Scott Marks said: "This was another tournament type win for us tonight. We scored 3 runs in the 6th inning to take the late inning lead. And a come from behind win against a team that is doing very well in their league is a great test for us if we find ourselves in the USCAA tournament."

Game 2

Kyle Bumpass (3-1) was notched with the loss in his 3.2 innings of work allowing 9 runs (6 earned) on 6 hits with 3 walks and one strikeout. William Sierzega was first out of the pen allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with one walk and one strikeout. Then Matthew Bishop for the final 1.0 inning pitching a clean frame with no runs, no hits, no walks.

The offense in game two was for sure missing the Hawks top producer over the last 4 seasons Michael Malfeo who was out interviewing for his career after IIT baseball. The Tech bats only managed 5 hits all from 5 different players: Boos, Cronin, Colon, Babusci and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The team will take on Finlandia University at home this weekend.
