Northborough, Mass. - The Illinois Tech women's lacrosse team received academic recognition yesterday afternoon when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named four Scarlet Hawks to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, and the team also achieved IWLCA Academic Honor Squad status for this past season.

Kelly Hitchcock, Toni Martinez, Iona Pettigrew and Nayeli Samano were each named to the 2025-26 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. The IWLCA honored 1,350 student-athletes from 174 different institutions on the 2025-26 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll.

The Illinois Tech women's lacrosse team was among 357 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA named as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2025-26 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

The IWLCA is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
