Chicago, Ill. - Chloe Churilla of women's basketball and Omar Salman of men's basketball are the recipients of Scarlet Hawk of the Week honors for the week of December 14th.
Churilla, a senior forward and Applied Mathematics major from Highland, Indiana, led the Scarlet Hawks in both scoring and rebounding during the team's west coast trip last week. Churilla averaged 13 points and 9 rebounds per game in their games against Pomona-Pitzer and Caltech, shooting 8-18 from the field (44%) and 10-14 in free throws (71%).
Salman, a freshman guard and Business Administration and Information Technology major from Amman, Jordan, averaged 8 points per game in the Scarlet Hawks 4 games last week. Included in Salman's performance was a two-game stretch in Puerto Rico, when he had a career-high 19-point game against Catholic University on 12/20, followed by a 10-point game against Johns Hopkins on 12/21. Over 4 games, Salman shot 11-17 from the field (65%), including 8-11 from 3-point range (73%).
