Chicago, Ill. - Annaelle Mukash of women's track and field and Maximo Dowling of men's volleyball are the recipients of Scarlet Hawk of the Week honors for the week of January 19th.
Mukash, a sophomore sprinter and Information and Technology Management major from Kinshasa, Congo DRC, set the school record in the women's indoor 60-meter dash for two consecutive weeks, including establishing the new record with a time of 8.16 this past weekend at the Aurora Grand Prix at Gately Park. Mukash had set the previous school record the week before with a time of 8.22 at the Coach Shoe Invite in Bloomington, Illinois. Mukash currently ranks 4th in the NACC with her indoor 60-meter time.
Dowling, a sophomore outside hitter and Computer Engineering major from Burlington, Vermont, racked up 29 kills and a 4.14 kills per set average over 7 sets played this Sunday against #14 Loras and host UW-Stevens Point. Dowling opened with 11 kills against Loras, and followed that up with an 18-kill effort against UW-Stevens Point. Dowling earned 29 points with a .271 attack percentage, while adding 19 digs. He currently sits second in the conference in kills per set with 3.75.
